ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced hands-on architect to work together with the architecture team to define the architecture and provide technical leadership and guidance for the Berlin based products. Strong track record of technical leadership and designing and implementing mobile client applications connected to complex back end systems. This is the right role for a technical leader who loves building things and is willing and able to jump in and contribute to the code when necessary, and who can mentor developers from the most junior to the budding architects.
The position requires interaction with Product Management, Marketing and Strategy, User Experience, and of course all levels of Engineering. It is your role to interact with all the above disciplines to derive and drive architectural requirements and strategy.
Requirements
- Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar technical degree
- Extensive track-record defining architecture and providing technical leadership in complex software engineering projects
- Knowledge and experience with NoSQL systems
- Proficiency with at least one mobile device platform
- Strong software development skills and developer mentoring skills
- Proven ability to negotiate requirements with Product and User Experience teams
- The ability and wiliness to jump in and contribute to code - we are looking for
- Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation (e.g. technical publications, patents)
- Excellent command of written and spoken EnglishExcellent communications skills
- At least 10 years as an architect or similar roles
- Experience in Agile software development and the scrum methodology
- Experience working with large, diverse, and geographically distributed multinational teams
