Senior Java Developer
Job Description
A world leading financial services provider is currently looking for a senior Java developer to join its professional development operation in Budapest. You will be joining an English speaking, dynamic and Agile development environment. You will be working on various short lifecycle projects in close conjunction with end users and managers in UK and US.
You will be involved in full lifecycle projects where you will be participating in the analysis and requirements gathering stages along with the post development QA/Test/Release Management stages. Hands on development will account for approximately 30-50% of your focus.
This opportunity requires much more than simply coding or following instruction. You will be expected to take ownership of the areas you are working on, and be responsible for delivering critical application solutions whilst contributing to the overall improvement of team dynamics (process’s, ideas, communication, and ultimately success). Requirements
- University degree or similar is beneficial
- Good level of spoken and written English is required
- 3+ years commercial Java development experience
- Familiar with different stages of the development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing and deployment.
- Relational database programming (JDBC, Hibernate,)
- Good understanding of data-structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming.
- Experience with Web services technologies (XML, SOAP, XSD)
- Basic understanding of Unix shell scripting or Perl
