Job Description

Opportunity to join a globally renowned Stock Exchange operator and transaction services provider. As a result of recent mergers this marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and other securities now has a strong presence across Europe and the US. However the company’s crucial and substantial IT Systems division is located here in Prague, Czech Republic. Their success is built on highly integrated and automated IT systems, which in turn are reliant on a highly skilled development team. 

Currently there are a number of open positions in the Prague based Software Development Operation, including the position of Junior Software Developer (Web-Applications)

ROLE:
We are looking for software developers to join the IT development centre in Prague and help advance the technology and functionality of the systems. You will experience the whole project life-cycle from specification, technical design and implementation to going live and maintenance of applications. 

The high availability and reliability requirements of the transaction based systems will challenge your technical skills and provide extensive opportunities for improvement. You will acquire insight into financial market products and processes – especially trade management and post trade services. 

Some projects provide an opportunity to travel to Frankfurt – trips to coordinate with Business and IT or participation in projects aimed at learning technologies or functionality.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking, the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Experience with web-application development in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Experience with web-technologies (e.g. GWT, HTML, CSS, XML/XSLT, J2EE)
  • Experience with web-development environments (especially Eclipse, Java)
  • Familiarity with multi-tier technologies (Web-Server, Application-Server, LDAP, Messaging)
  • A university degree in information technology, engineering, natural sciences or economics
  • English Language
