C# Developer (server-side development)

Our client is a financial services company with a globally recognized brand name that is associated with wealth, prestige and success. Their success in core business is supported by a globally distributed software development operations and one of the key development centers is based here in Prague, CZ. There is a number of small to mid size teams that are parts of larger global/virtual teams operating fairly independently and focusing on development for specific parts of the business domain. Just in a matter of few years our client managed to build up from the scratch a team of nearly two hundred top professional software developers from all over Europe and is still growing with multiple opportunities available for the right individuals. The entry bar is set high, but so are the rewards for those who succeed.For one of the teams we are currently looking for a C# developer with very good knowledge of the .Net framework and databases(MS SQL, Oracle), SQL/T-SQL.
This is NOT a front-end web application development role with ASP.NET, rather server-side development of desktop applications using C#.
Main duties: Develop and implement new functionality and enhance platform on the server side. The client side is primary C# and WinForm technologies while the server side is C# and MS SQL 2005 for DB.
This is not just a coding/programming role, you will be involved in the following tasks:
- Technical analysis based on supplied functional specifications
- Development of robust and practical solutions
- Involvement in full project life cycle in a technical capacity
- Support and training of support staff for new developments
Requirements
- Very strong server-side programming skills in C#/.Net(2.0-3.5)
- Thorough knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000-08 and SQL(stored procedures, triggers)
- Awareness of Agile/Scrum development process
- Good understanding of multi-threading and memory management
- C++ programming knowledge is also advantageous, but not required
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience in working on projects with appreciation of the full development life cycle
