Our client is a financial services company with a globally recognized brand name that is associated with wealth, prestige and success. Their success in core business is supported by a globally distributed software development operations and one of the key development centers is based here in Prague, CZ. There is a number of small to mid size teams that are parts of larger global/virtual teams operating fairly independently and focusing on development for specific parts of the business domain. 

Just in a matter of few years our client managed to build up from the scratch a team of nearly two hundred top professional software developers from all over Europe and is still growing with multiple opportunities available for the right individuals. The entry bar is set high, but so are the rewards for those who succeed.  

One of the global teams - IT Research, has decided to establish a presence in Prague and build a team of highly skilled C#/Silverlight web developers that will play a key role in a new high-importance project. It's a brand new team which will closely cooperate with peers in UK and Singapore and heavily contributing to the development of state-of-the-art system designed and build on the latest Microsoft technologies - Silverlight, WPF, .NET 4.0, etc. Development process methodology is regulated by Agile/Scrum best practices and is designed to give the developers more access to the business end users and allow room for implementing ideas, being creative. Projects will require the team's active participation in analysis, development and testing activities.

The main technologies the solutions are based on are C# and Silverlight, although the long term strategy is to move to full MS WPF. 

The team will consist of 4-5 developers initially. 

Requirements

The only must-have requirement is that candidates must be bright and intelligent developers with good analytical mind set. Our client believes it’s not about perfect knowledge of a given programming language and it’s syntax that makes a good developer, but rather the way of thinking and solving the problem, hence this unorthodox requirement. 

As one of the criteria for one’s sharpness and intelligence assessment strong Maths background/skills are preferred, but only as an indication of one’s analytic and problem solving skills. This is not a Maths application development role.

Candidates also preferably should come from a RIA development background, and familiar with web user interface/client-side development technologies/frameworks, which can be either MS or Java based – C#/Silverlight, Java/JSP/JSF/JavaFX.
